The re-entry program was introduced
in 2003 and is available to clients serving a 4 - 12 month sentence.
This program is available in St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River and
Okeechobee
counties. The program is designed to help clients
re-integrate back into society by providing them with links to job training, GED preparation, job opportunities and help in
finding housing.
The Re-Entry Specialist meets with clients prior to
being released from jail and develops an individualized service plan
to assist the client in these areas.
The development and growth of the Offender Re-Entry program
would not be possible without the collaborated efforts between the
public defender, law enforcement, mental health providers, and job
placement contacts. This program is committed to helping
those who want to help themselves. For more
information on this program contact
Kristen Webster, Offender Re-Entry Coordinator.
